The doctor will always err on the side of caution when it comes to treating patients. So while lasers can be dangerous, we will select the correct wavelength and power level for your needs.

Does the research on lasers support their use in periodontics at this time?

There doesn’t appear to be enough evidence to support the use of specific wavelengths fortreatment of periodontal disease.

Does insurance cover the use of a laser in periodontal therapy?

Insurance carriers pay based off of the procedure performed, not the tools used. Regardless of the tools used the dental practice is reimbursed for the procedure. With that in mind, it’s important that you check with your insurance carrier to understand what is covered under your plan.
